Welcome to the Psychology Department

Mission Statement
We are committed to furthering our understanding of the mind and behavior by the methods of science and to the development of applications of the science of psychology to better the human condition. Our faculty, through their research and teaching, set out to accomplish this goal.

The psychology department offers both undergraduate and graduate programs. The department's graduate program leads to a doctoral degree in psychology. Graduate students are able to specialize in either Clinical Psychology; Cognition, Neuroscience and Social Psychology; or Industrial/Organizational Psychology.

The department also offers a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. Please take a moment to explore the degree programs offered and do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.


Undergraduate Advising

Walk-in Hours
Psychology Department advisors will be conducting walk-in advising in PCD 4116 on the following dates (all dates are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays):

November 17, 18, 19 (for Freshmen only, students with an AA Hold)
December 1, 2, 3

Advising hours will begin at 9:00 am and end at 3:00 pm. Please do not arrive before 9:00am!
Walk-in advising is ONLY for discussing Spring 2010 schedules; we will not discuss ARC Petitions, graduate school, or other issues. You should make a regular advising appointment for these matters.

Grad-Checks
Grad-checks should be requested through psychad@cas.usf.edu. Please do not schedule an advising appointment or attend a walk-in session solely for a grad-check. Don’t forget your U-number.
